(AP) \u2014 NASCAR driver Kyle Busch experienced shortness of breath, felt he was overheating and was coughing up blood the day before his death, according to a 911 call obtained Friday by The Associated Press.<\/p>\n<p><span><a data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/nascar-kyle-busch-hospitalized-ce84367f25bd5bd04234f60292fde64f\">Busch died Thursday<\/a><\/span> at age 41. No cause of death has been given, though his family said earlier he had been hospitalized with a \u201csevere illness\u201d three days before he was to compete in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n<p>Busch was testing in the Chevrolet racing simulator in Concord on Wednesday when he became unresponsive and was transported to a hospital in Charlotte, several people familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because details have not been disclosed by Busch\u2019s team or family.<\/p>\n<p>During the emergency call placed late that afternoon from the General Motors training facility, an unidentified caller calmly told the dispatch: \u201cI\u2019ve got an individual that\u2019s shortness of breath, very hot, thinks he\u2019s going to pass out, and he\u2019s producing a little bit of blood, coughing up some blood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Busch was lying on the bathroom floor inside the complex and told dispatch \u201cHe is awake,\u201d the caller said, according to audio provided by the Cabarrus County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The man then gave directions on where emergency responders should go and asked that they turn off any sirens upon arrival.<\/p>\n<p>___<\/p>\n<p>AP auto racing: <span><a data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/hub\/auto-racing\">https:\/\/apnews.com\/hub\/auto-racing<\/a><\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kyle Busch sonr\u00ede al ser presentado durante la carrera de estrellas de la NASCAR, el domingo 17 de mayo de 2026 en Dover, Delaware (AP Foto\/Derik Hamilton, archivo) 2026-05-22T18:18:01Z CONCORD, N.C.
